CALVIN KLEIN— The Baron of Minimalism
Calvin Klein is who I would call the Baron of Minimalism…
For a certain type an American (aesthetic) lifestyle, Calvin has always been a believer of clean lines, simple and practical structures.
LOGO:
The font he used was Futura Light for his logo, sans serif, and again, clean, very straight forward.
HOME:
He has promoted a visually uncomplicated environment for the human soul.
ADVERTISEMENTS:
There have been ads of his that were controversial, but they were always shot cleanly. He’d chosen lighting that would show every contours of the model’s body with high contrasts. But these ads were all directed in chic way and with not a lot of clutter for the extra hype.
PRODUCT (Fragrance):
Calvin uses practical and at times futuristic structures. There are instances when Calvin does use colors, and when he does, he does so sparingly, well controlled and with a calming effect.
Make up:
There is beauty in neutral pallor.
God save the Baron!
